Commander's Notes

The National JWV Convention is over and the consolidation of Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico has been approved. I believe it is a total of five Posts, with the Reno Post not included.

JWV National has completed the hiring of a management company to operate the National Office. When you call the National Office you will not be talking to a JWV member. Expect more efficiency in providing you with the answer you seek.

The new SWDepartment Executive Board will meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:00 pm by Zoom.

Starting September 27th we will be doing something new and interesting. If we do not have a scheduled speaker, one of our current veterans can have the floor to talk about their own military experience. Why did you join the military? What did you do while in the military? How long did you serve, and what are your general feelings about your experience? We would ask that you keep your time to around 15 minutes. I will be the first, and month by month we can take volunteers.

We need new members, and the only way we get them is by asking someone you know to join JWV. We also need to make our Post known in the Las Vegas community by having more of us being involved.

The 2027 dues for our members will be on the agenda for the next general meeting, September 27th.
